Cytoplasm is what holds the cell together and it is what nutrients are passed along in a cell. You could compare the nutrients to a car, the cars are passing along the road. ;

A road is similar to cytoplasm because both provide structure and allow movement. Just as roads transport vehicles and goods, cytoplasm transports nutrients and waste within a cell. Additionally, both serve as a supportive environment for their respective functions.
