Choose the correct words to complete the story. Planes, trains and me I really love going to different countries but I don't like travelling by plane. In fact, I hate flying! Last summer I went on holiday with my friend, Luca. Luca wanted to fly, but I decided to take the train. Big mistake! The journey took nine hours. There wasn't any café on the train and I didn't have a food with me. When I arrived at the hotel I was very tired and hungry. It wasn't a good start to the holiday!

This exercise focuses on reading comprehension and vocabulary selection within a narrative context, which are key elements in English studies. Here’s how to think about this:

Understanding the Context : The story is about a person’s experience with traveling during a holiday, specifically choosing to travel by train instead of flying.

Analyzing the Situation : They describe the experience of traveling for nine hours without food since there wasn’t any café on the train, leading to feelings of tiredness and hunger upon arriving at the hotel.

Vocabulary Selection : In completing the story, you must choose words that logically fill in the gaps based on the context provided. This typically involves selecting words that accurately reflect the narrative's sequence, emotions, or outcomes.

Narrative Elements : Key elements to note in the story involve a poor start to a holiday due to a long, uncomfortable journey. The narrative highlights contrasting preferences between the narrator and their friend, Luca, who preferred flying.

By understanding these points, you can effectively complete the story and grasp the narrative's main ideas and themes.
