How does the cell membrane affect the contents of a cell?

It allows things to go in and out of the cell. Plants have rigid cell walls which makes it harder for things to go in and out if the cell. Animal cells are softer so they can diffuse substances easier

The cell membrane regulates what enters and exits the cell through selective permeability, allowing controlled transport of substances. It consists of a phospholipid bilayer and employs both passive and active transport mechanisms to maintain homeostasis. Additionally, the membrane is involved in cell communication, impacting cellular functions and health.
