Mosses adapt to temperate deciduous forests through desiccation tolerance, moisture retention, shade tolerance, substrate adaptability, and forming symbiotic relationships. These adaptations help them thrive in the shaded, moisture-rich environments of the forest understory. Additionally, they play crucial roles in the ecosystems by stabilizing soil and providing habitats for various organisms.
