Explain how, if two vases are side by side on a shelf, one could have more potential energy.

Potential energy depends on factors such as height, mass, and the gravitational field. If one vase is heavier or positioned on a higher part of the shelf, it will have more potential energy.

Potential energy varies between objects based on their height and mass. A vase on a higher shelf or one that is heavier will have more potential energy. This is calculated using the formula PE = m g h .
