not sure what that means but I will try to answer things to remember: when working with equations, you can do anything to the equation, except divide by zero, as long as you do it to both sides .
you waant the placeholders on one side and the numbers on the other -17h=-204 multiply both sides by -1
17h=204 divide both sides by 17 h=12
k/2=-27 multiply both side by 2 2k/2=-54 k=-54
-3p-8=31 add 8 to both sides -3p=39 divide both sides by 3 -p=13 multiply both sides by -1 p=-13
so this one is tricky -2(7x+4)=36 2y-(y-5)=9 so if we simplify these equations we get -2(-7x+4)=36 distribute 14x-8=36 add 8 to both sides 14x=44 divide both sides by 14 we get x=44/14=22/7= 3 and 1/7
2y-(y-5)=9 remember that -(y-5)=-1(y-5) so distribute 2y-y-(-5)=9 add like terms y+5=9 subtract 5 from both sides y=14
