A simple subject is what the sentence is mainly talking about, the noun or the main word or words on what the sentence is about. There is also a simple predicate which is what the person or people in the sentence are doing. For example: Bob walked down the street. Bob is the simple subject and walked is the simple predicate.

The simple subject is the main noun or pronoun in a sentence that indicates who or what the sentence is about. It does not include any modifiers or extra words. For example, in 'The cat sleeps', 'cat' is the simple subject.
