PLEASE HELP!! What is the slope of the hypotenuses of the triangles in simplest form?

Asked by Scolder2000

Answer (3)

Both of the hypotenuses are pieces of the line [ y = 2x ].
So their slopes are both 2 .

The slopes of the hypotenuses of the triangles depend on the equations of the line representing them. For example, if one hypotenuse has a line equation of y = 2 x + 1 , the slope is 2, while another hypotenuse represented by y = − 2 1 x + 1 has a slope of − 2 1 . The slopes can be in simplest form depending on their definitions.
