What is the factor of [tex]16^2 - 81[/tex]?

Answer (2)

this is the diffiarence of two perfect squares. this should be memorised, but if not here it is
a^2-b^2=(a-b)(a+b) so 16^2-81=16^2-9^2 so the answer is (16-9)(16+9)

The expression 1 6 2 − 81 can be factored as ( 16 − 9 ) ( 16 + 9 ) = ( 7 ) ( 25 ) . This uses the difference of two squares formula, which states a 2 − b 2 = ( a − b ) ( a + b ) . Thus, the factored form is ( 7 ) ( 25 ) .
