If Charles runs \(\frac{1}{4}\) of a mile in 2 minutes, how can you find out how long it would take for Charles to run a whole mile at that rate?

All we need to do is to multiply both 1/4 of a mile and 2 minutes by 4 to get a time in which Charles runs one mile.
1/4 mile * 4 = 1 mile 2 minutes * 4 = 8 minutes
Answer: Charles runs one mile in 8 minutes.

Charles takes 8 minutes to run 1 mile. To find this time, you multiply both the quarter mile distance and time by 4. Therefore, 2 minutes × 4 = 8 minutes for 1 mile.
