Confucianism, b/c it stresses respect, merit , and knowing one's place in the 5 relationships.
The basis for the civil service exam during the Han, Tang, and Song dynasties was Confucianism, which emphasized education, virtue, and social harmony. This system promoted merit-based governance, allowing individuals, ideally from any background, to qualify for government positions based on their knowledge and moral character. Although theoretically available to all, the reality was that only affluent families could often succeed in navigating this complex system.
