Clyde makes a copy of an 8 in. x 10 in. photo, reducing it to 3/4 of its size. What are the dimensions of the new photo?

To get the reduced dimensions we have to multiply each dimension by 3/4 factor, so 8 4 3 ​ = 2 1 3 ​ = 6 - first dim 10 ∗ 4 3 ​ = 4 30 ​ = 7.5 -second dim Answer is 6x7.5

Clyde should have applied the power of a power rule and multiplied the exponents instead of adding them. The simplified form should be j to the 16th power.
