How do I change \(2 \frac{2}{5}\) to a decimal?

Asked by ashley121

Answer (3)

2 2/5 = 5/5+5/5+2/5 or 12/5
to change a fraction to a decimal you use a calculator of you change it to a fraction then to a decimal
if you multiply a fraction by its recipricol (the number fliped upside down) the you will get 1 so if you multiply 1/2 by 2/1 then you will get 1 so you multiply 12/5 with 100/x=1200/5x=240
you change the percent to a fraction by moving the decimal place two places to the left or divide it by 100
so 240%=2.4 answer

Keep the two the same so put 2. then you put the 2 in the faction under the division sign then you put the 5 on the outside. The answer should be 2.4.
