Solve the equation for y in terms of x.

5x + 2y = 4

Asked by Kimmie01

Answer (3)

5 x + 2 y = 4 ⇒ 5 x = − 2 y + 4 ⇒ x = − 5 2 x + 5 4 5 x + 2 y = 4 ⇒ 2 y = − 5 x + 4 ⇒ y = − 2 5 x + 2

so 5x+2y=4 if we had more details we could solve this but if you maniplulat the equation you can get x=(4-2y)/5 and y=(4-5x)/2

To solve for y in the equation 5 x + 2 y = 4 , isolate y by first moving 5 x to the other side and then dividing by 2. The solution is y = 2 − 2 5 x .
