Answer (2)

g(-4)
=1/2((-4)-1)
=1/2(-5)
=-2.5

f(g(-4))
=f(-2.5)
=2(-2.5)+1
=-5+1
=-4

The value of f ( g ( − 4 )) is -4. This is calculated by first finding g ( − 4 ) which equals -2.5, and then substituting that into f ( x ) .
