How is anaphase II similar to anaphase in mitosis?

Anaphase 2 is pretty much the same as in mitosis, except this time, it's being done for a second time.
In mitosis one cell duplicates and separates into two *diploid *cells
but in meiosis, everything is done twice (which splits everything in half again) to make four new haploid cells.

Anaphase II in meiosis is similar to anaphase in mitosis in that both involve the separation of sister chromatids and their movement to opposite poles. However, the end products differ: mitosis produces two identical diploid cells, while meiosis II produces four genetically distinct haploid cells. The overall mechanics of both processes share common stages but serve different purposes in cell division.
