During the French and Indian War both the French and the British allied with Native American tribes in order to combat one another. However, the French allied themselves with more tribes than the British did. The Native American tribes played an important role throughout the conflict, but were subsequently defeated during the conflict when the British won the war.

The Native Americans were crucial in the French and Indian War, serving as allies to both the French and British. Though both sides sought their support, the French initially had stronger alliances, but the British eventually gained the upper hand by increasing their military presence and recruitment of Native tribes. The war's outcome diminished Native American influence and power, leading to increased conflicts in the aftermath.
