Women were mostly housewives. Their job was to take care of the house and to raise children. If they were rich, however, or if they were nobility, then they could participate in politics or popular activities or things like that, but the common people had to be housewives.

In Sumerian society, women's most common role was as housewives responsible for household duties and child-rearing. Wealthier women had opportunities to participate in economic and political activities, managing family affairs and businesses when necessary. Overall, women's roles were primarily domestic, but they could also influence economic matters and hold some legal rights, particularly among the upper classes.
