Why are carbohydrates used as a source of quick energy rather than fat?

carbohydrates contain sugar. they are polysaccarides and hydrolyse into disaccharides they are therefore glucose. glucose is one of the essential reactants for respiration. respiration provides us with energy.This is why energy drinks give us a quick boost of energy.
wheras fat is usally stored and only starts burning when there isnt eough glucose available.
