Louis XIV expanded France's borders to secure its territory, enhance economic strength, assert his dynasty, promote Catholicism, and reinforce his power as an absolute monarch. His reign aimed to create a powerful France through territorial acquisitions, although it came at a high cost to the nation. Overall, his ambitions were rooted in political strategy, economic interests, and religious goals.
