How are mixtures and pure substances alike? How are they different?

Asked by Elizabethnadeak

Answer (2)

Likeness: both mixture and pure substances have weight and they occupy space. They are also made up of atoms, which are components which can not be divided further. Differences: Pure elements have fixed proportions and compositions while mixture does not. Mixtures can be mixed in any proportion and can composed of many substances.

Pure substances and mixtures are both types of matter that contain atoms and occupy space. Pure substances have a fixed composition and consistent properties, while mixtures consist of two or more substances that can vary in composition and maintain their individual properties. This classification helps us understand how different materials behave in chemical processes.
