Scientists can communicate their discoveries to the wider world in a variety of ways. Five of these include publishing their results in a peer-reviewed journal, publishing their work in a more publically accessible form of written media such as the newspaper, writing a letter to a noteable source of influence in the world of science or politics depending on the discovery, speaking about their discovery at an important conference, or speaking to an important educational body such as a university.
Scientists communicate their discoveries through peer-reviewed journals, conferences, popular media publications, reports and theses, and educational outreach. Each method serves to share knowledge within the scientific community and with the public. These avenues ensure that research findings are disseminated widely and effectively.
