Why is interphase important to an organism?

Interphase is when the cell grows and duplicates chromosomes. This is important for the cell to divide, because otherwise, the cell would shrink everytime it divided and would not have a sufficient amount of DNA

Interphase is a critical stage in the cell cycle that prepares a cell for division through three phases: G₁, S, and Gā‚‚. During this time, the cell grows, duplicates its DNA, and ensures everything is ready for mitosis. This preparation is vital for the genetic stability of the daughter cells formed after division.
